  • beautiful pieces Cordelia looks as if they are very comfortable to wear. I love the size (height) and the smoothed down of all the decorations.

  • Super bracelets and totally fabulous photo!

I would love a poster made of this, Cordelia. May be another sales line for you?

  • gorgeous

  • Yes, they are absolutely gorgeous and I am trying to learn more about them. I know they are from Tafroute. Were they actually made there? I wonder how commin they are. I do know that it is not easy to find a pair. There seem to be some fakes or less nicely worked ones, especially on Ebay If I do a search on the internet Etsy and Ebay come tops as well as Ethnic Jewels and those of us on Vivid Vault who have had Moroccan bracelets. Interesting that those sources are the top listed ones for such information, and how actually I found Ethnic jewels in the first place. There is a similar one I found on here from an earlier posting when googling Tafroute bracelets https://ethnicjewels.ning.com/photo/berber-silver-and-enamel-bracele...

  • These lovely knobby enamelled bracelets do seem to come up fairly regularly. From the Tiznit/Tafraoute area, it`s possible that they are more precisely Ida ou Semlal in origin.

I`m wondering if they are still being made as the black patterns are not actually niello. It could be from a natural plant resin as it is in the Serrouchen pieces - from juniper.

They put me in mind of the silver braceletsfrom further south - Akka/Tata and Guelmine - particular favourites of mine.

  • Faysal, what does "begora" refer to, please? The style/origin/ faux niello ?
