  • What a beautiful piece. How would it be worn?

  • I`m not sure, Ingrid, maybe just round the neck as it is. But these beads, which are rare anyway, were used with coral, usually the old rather rough stuff from Tibet, in the Kandy area.

  • Stunning.  They look as if they were gold plated once.  The clasp is one I have never seen before. Is the screw on the bottom of the clasp the piece whichscrews it together?

  • Your right, Ingrid. There are still traces of gilding at the beads extremities. I don`t think the whole of the bead was gilded, just the more worked parts at each end

  • It`s a push in pin rather than a screw which fastens it together. I have seen very few of such clasps myself, just 2/3. And none as nicely worked.

    Hooray for Ebay, I say!

  • Thank you Frankie, absolute a top. Enjoy!

  • What a find! Beautiful Frankie!

  • Frankie you really are the e bay queen x
  • Frankie, either you know something we don't about ebay or you sit on the internet ALL night!  You are incredible with your 'finds' and I suppose you got it for next to nothing.

  • £40.00.

And you`re very nearly right! At least in the winter.

    xx
