  • So  strict, must be a beautiful contrast with their blue gowns. Do they  present some observing eye? That is the impression it gives me.

  • Thank you Ingrid. This "key" is usually worn on a Long leather band as a Counter weight to hold the veil in place (by the Tuareg women), usually at the back, not like a necklace. Some are extremely big and heavy, others are smaller and lighter. I am not sure, but I think this is mainly an object worn by Malian Targias.

  • Thank you Eva, I am going to find some pictures to see how this is worn.

  • Hi Ingrid, I had several  Pictures of Asrou n'souls (Tuareg keys) on this blog, but someone tried to mob me out, 2506004456?profile=originalso I deleted most of my Pictures. I include here two Pictures, one with some more Tureg veil weights and the other is a painting by me, showing a Targia wearing such a Veil weight.

  • 2506018725?profile=originalthis is how the Tuareg women wear this type of pendant, I painted it from a small photo in a book

  • You are a  painter Eva? How exciting.it looks like it holds the cloth over one shoulder. Thank you for putting out the effort. Do they represent symbols? They look so strong in clean sharp lines and so Art'Deco styles.
