I am very fond of the shape of these necklaces-- called egeru?
I like these also. It looks like a wonderful old one, very rare to find. Patti: yes they are calle Egeru (in some books they name them Egourou), and also referred to as wedding necklaces. They are usually decorate on both sides, whereas one side has more decorations. Sometimes they have the ending like this one here, sometimes, they have three pieces at the ending. In any case, they are rare to find and often not cheap...especially the old ones.
perfect. wedding egourou, igourou, eguru. it depends wich language used
Yes, it's an Eguru necklace, and I was told by the seller that they were wedding necklaces as you say, Eva. I have more than one with diferent sizes, endings and beads. I also have another type of eguru that I will post for you to see. I'm very happy with these pieces, I bought several of each type, so some are for sale.
Ok, I will be looking forward to seeing the various ones!
