Sorry for the bad photo. Background on this was that I acquired it in 1985 when I was employed by an antique jewerly dealer in Western Massachusetts. It came out of an estate in Western Mass at that time... my boss had no use for the item, and I bought it at cost since I liked its boldness. Being that this was the 1980's I wore the item often, until the hinge separated and I was unable to find someone confident to repair it. I've always wondered what it was since I've never seen another piece like it.
I would say Yemeni although the beads in Yemeni work are usually coral, these may be replaced,however/ Yemeni items are sometimes gilded.
