Marriage crowns. 'Rum' (Anatolian Greek), from Cappadocia. The bridegroom's crown bears an inscription in so-called 'Karamanli' (= Turkish, written phonetically in the Greek alphabet). The script is dated (1849); the crowns are possible older. Diam. 19cm. (Benaki Museum, Athens).
