Late-Ottoman pazubent – Marmara region / Turkey.

Silver ‘pazubent’ (amulet armband) for men. From the Marmara region, late-Ottoman, ca. 1900. The central circular part is a box that can be opened; Purchased in Bursa in 1997. (Inv.nr. müç045 - Kavak Costume Collection - Antwerpen/Belgium). (SOLD to the ‘Etnografisch Museum, Antwerpen’, as part of a full costume).
