  • Lovely. I am reassured, in a way, that it is sold, for that means that I don't have to worry about buying this. Wonderful stuff!

  • ha, ha Joost yes that was my thought too!!  It is beautiful, must say I never heard of Soiko Jelburooch before??

  • I just see now the triangle part has 3 buttons attached to it? for what reason?

  • I wonder what Linda might be able to tell us about that!

  • Those are set in like stones and are mother of pearl because it is what they had that was precious at the time !

  • That makes excellent sense, Linda. And shells have been much used in many cultures as jewellery. The amusing thing here is that they are actually buttons, but, of course, for the value of the material that would have made no difference to the people in Khirgiz at the time. A most effective application!

  • These are actually cut shell hand cut like old ones not like just the ones that are from the 30's ready made. They have no lip an are like mosaic tiles set in.

  • Quite so, Linda, I do understand. This is a wonderful set of jewellery, and I have drawn attention to it on Facebook as well.
