  • Just came across this picture again. I would say this is bracelet is from Syria or Turkey. I saw something similar recently, but must check....

  • Spot on Betty, these usually come from the border between both countries specially around the cities of Mardin and Sanliurfa, where they used to be (and still into some extent) a mix of arab bedouin christians and kurds

    Note that the closing pin is made following an ottoman technique found a bit everywhere around the levant and the balkans

    I also saw some similar pieces in Armenia this summer which is no surprise as many Armenian families hail from Eastern Turkey.

    First saw these cuffs when researching on the origin of a bracelet I bought, which I suspect to be from the same region.
