Fragment of a pendent. Mother-of-pearl. With several religious scenes drawn in graffiti technique (a 'Crucifixion', the 'emperor Constantine and his mother St Helena presenting the Holy Cross', and 'Jezus, the sacred fountain of life’). Greek-Orthodox, 'Rum'(Anatolian Greek) folk art from the Kayseri area, probably late-Ottoman era (18th or 19th century). On exhibit in the Kayseri Museum of Archaeology. (© Dick Osseman).
