  This is a very rare bracelet and the childhood and fertility here is obvious (round belly) but i beg to differ with you about the geographical origin.

  IN one of my previous posts i stressed on the fact that flared forms when they come in similar shapes and forms all the three we should suspect a central morocco origin.

  The shape of these flared forms (domes with a knob) are very common in classical bracelets in eastern high atlas and eastern middle atlas ( i have seen an old picture of an ait hadiddu girl wearing one)

  Look again a the narrowest part of the bracelet it has been "squeezed" and not flowing on the same level as a linear from one part of the bracelet to the other, this a afeature we find a lot in central morocco very rarely in anti atlas

  Thanks Ayis, for your excellent information on the form and meaning of the bracelet. The craftsmanship on this one is exquisite and the hand of the maker is very immediate. The dealer seemed a bit unsure about the place of origin. He bought it in Marrakech but that means nothing when trying to figure this out. Do you think it was man by a Jewish smith? I saw a version of this in David Roauch's book. I'll check his reference.

  A part from bearing a sepcial hallmark i can' confirm it has been done by a jewish silversmith nor  can i refunse it.

  Jewish as you may know were famous in silversmithing in Morocco and the quality here is very high, an evidence about the advanced age and the skill of the smith.

  Wow! Nice find from the Tribal Show! I don't remember seeing this one. But then I was so focused on buying my Tunisian necklace I probably missed seeing a lot. Beautiful workmanship in this and so unusual.
