  • Beautifully done, Betty. I love the background filigree shape. The wire work looks as if it could have been done by hand.... And the Pharaohs heads are characteristic. You can see why this kind of jewellery was so popular.

  • I agree Betty, they are beautiful. Did you know that many silver smiths in Egypt are actually Armenians. They are holding the monopoly of in this profession. With kind regards. Peter

  • Thank you Thelma and Peter. Interesting information about the Armenians, Peter. I knew there were Armenian silversmiths in Ethiopia. I never thought about them being in Egypt, too... I can confirm that the wirework is handmade. Both earrings are hallmarked, but too tiny for me to read the year. I think I see a lotus, so it's most likely 2nd half of 20th century.
