  • Hillary. verry beautiful and old touareg bracelets.they were also made in saoura region, south marocco, west sahara until mauritania. in general, more by the touareg.

do you know the history of this treasure ? how old ? haw it becomes like this ? i actualy have a theory but it is just a theory.

  • I believe that these are very old and were worn every day for many, many years.  Sometimes I get bracelets that have bread dough in the crevices which is evidence for them being worn all day, every day. What is your theory?  While it is clear that they are extremely old, I don't know just how old these are.

  • Hillary . thank you. i thought you know the background of this jewels and the owners or heritage .

yes it is true, they are verry old and worn every day. it could be in a cold region where the women have to wear wool clothes and longarms. it is an old work, high silver quality mixed not only with brass or kupper ( i bit of ferric inside ) that s why the brown color inside. i had some in this metal mix. the silver is arround 900 i guess.

the owner and wearer could be a garden worker or carpet maker. some persone who is dayly in action

    beautiful pieces

  • Yes, I think that the wear patterns are evidence of repetitive daily use.  The dark inside is actually a residue that one finds on lots of old Berber jewelry.  I have a bead pendant with an amazing build up that I will try to photograph to show you.  It's not oxidization/ rust of the metal.
