Nice old Tcherot Amulet from the Tuareg people in Mali. Made from copper, brass and steel the metal is actually darker than it appears in this photo.Measures 6.5 x 7 cm.

    When I bought these I left them with the trader while I went to the bank for money. When I came back he had cleaned them for me with a handful of sand! He removed the very old patina and the surface is very scratched.

    what a pity! I know this habit to clean things with sand.. sometimes it is not so great.

    Hmm I was not very happy but in least I had a chance to see them in original condition and I think that we would have wanted to clean them before wearing. Maybe not as much.
