Beautiful beads! I have noticed again and again that many Yemen jewellery are also used in Ethiopia, so it Looks a bit Ethiopian to me too, like Ingrid said below.
Hi Ingrid and Eva, sorry no Ethiopian beads in this necklace....smooth beads with band are Turkish.

Lovely necklace, great design! As for the smoth beads I would side with Akkie and say they look Turkmen to me (at least in design - but I believe there are a lot of "remakes" being sold these days). I've recently seen a bunch of them that were acquired in Morocco according to the dealer.
Marie-Ange, thank you for your info, I have just placed a photo of old beads from Ethiopia/Somalia similar to your Turkish beads and find it exciting to see the connection that especially in Somalia and Harrar descendants from the Turkish invasion mid 1600 remained there and were and are jewelers.
Akkie and Betty, I wrote Turkish beads as they came from Turkey and I realy do not know the age of the beads, if they are old antique I would for sure call them Turkmen but they may be newly made?? I don't know if the newer beads also can be called Turkmen??

In Morocco one finds EVERYTHING.
Moroccan dealers do travel worldwide in search for ethnic jewelry (old and new) which they bring back and sell!
I myself have found there jewelry from central asia, india,the whole african continent, yemen...
