Very nice, were is the pendant from? This I ask because it looks a bit like a mix of beads from Yemen and Oman.
Hi Harald, I bought it like this many years ago from a seller that sold it as an African necklace, my best guess would be Yemen.
Very nice piece, Marie-Ange. I agree with Harald that it seems to have both Yemeni and Omani accents. The pendant, particularly the dangles, reminds me of another one I got from Veronica thought this one is more ellaborate and lavish. If I find a picture of it I will post it. Like your taste!
Thanks Jose, somehow this pendant does not belong to the necklace I guess someone added it at one point, but I do not want to break the rope to take it out. yes please if you find a picture of your necklace we can compare them.
beautiful necklace and combination.i think that the pendant is originaly a part of necklace, it has semilitude to some beads
Hello Marie-Ange. This is the Yemeni pendant I was telling you about before. The truth is that my recollection was that it was more similar to yours. In any event I thnik that they may share some background. You should also see the webpage of Beadart Austria under the tag Collector's Gallery. There there is a Yemeni necklace of banded agate beads and a crescent-shape pendant that again, while not the same as yours, they have some resemblance.
Thanks a lot Jose, and yes I see much resemblance to them so this puts my necklace even more towards Yemen. Lovely necklace by the way!!
Truly my "cup of tea", as you would know, Marie-Ange!
The yusr beads with inset silver are typically Yemeni and quite valuable.--on M-A's necklace
Patti the one on top is mine and the one with the black coral Yusr beads from Jose M. Perry.
