Wedding necklaces

Still adding urls to sites, most of which are on my page. This page is elusive and I am always happy to find it after not seeing it for a while -- Ethic Wedding Necklaces -- I think my favorite of all ethnic jewelry, kind of nice to be a perpetual bride.

  • Thanks for this link!
  • I guess I am replying to my own discussion, just wanted to list my favorites of this group, the Uzbek beaded, the rigid, heavy silver Muze from the horn of Africa, the clove necklace from Yemen and the Afghan or Tadzhik necklace.-- What a huge variety of style, technique and material from a relatively small area!
    • Great link! I wish there were more examples for us to admire though. Given the great availability of Turkoman wedding pieces in museum and private collections, I wonder why those are not featured on that site. At the same time, I feel it's a good thing to give more attention to 'tribal' pieces as I would categorise those depicted on the site .Especially for people like me who favor the bigger and more ornamentous pieces, it's good to see the other side of the medaillon when it comes to the great diversity of body decoration.
