They are copies of Kabyle pieces and are skilfully made....
I noticed that the cabochons are now made from complete coral pieces rather than composite coral chips in resin.
This is significant as the way to tell the Moroccan piece from the Kabyle pieces has previously been to check the coral type... Moroccan copies used cheaper composite resin with coral chips.
This tiny detail change at this point in time is important to those appraising jewels, the enamelling and construction now are the clues, and over time and with aging will make it more difficult to discern the origin of the pieces.
I believe that the decor on these pieces includes a type of glass for the enamel which does not match the colour palette of Kabyle pieces exactly, the enamel placement is a little "off" and the green enamel has a 'gloopy' aspect which sets it apart.
