Aloha, I believe this is a Chinese Kingfisher hair ornament. The pheonix is gold gilt. The wing and colorful pompoms bounce about when worn. The tassel is silk measuring 15". I'm wondering if anyone knows what time period this was made? There's a similar pheonix hairpiece online. It's from the 19th century. I wonder what type of dye was used on the pom poms which appear to be silk. The entire length of the bird is 8" x4 1/2". Any information is appreciated. Thanks! Meg
