Bazuband with interesting design

Just now found this bazuband on ebay and I am fascinated by the fabrication and design of the two end pieces--looks like openwork with red foil inserts. The inserts are described as red foil by the seller. I know that lots of Uzbek work contains foil inserts, but have never seen this particular fabrication in any other kind of jewelry. Does anybody know about the origin of this piece? I believe that bazubands are primarily worn by Shiite Muslims so it must be in a place where this form of Islam is predominent.
