Tunisian braclets

These bangle bracelets are called "mikyes zarkoun". This pair is very worn and have lost most of the original enamel. They are solid silver with gold wash weighing between 40 and 50g each. According to Gargouri-Sethom (p. 122), these are favored in the city of Mahdia where the women always wear them in pairs flanking another type of bracelet set with rose cut diamonds.

  • i always see them as hinged bracelets never saw this technique applied to open cuffs.

  • Thanks!  Very difficult to find this style, and impossible to find with the enamel intact.  Hence the condition of these.
