  • Yes, I agree - appealing old repairs, and a good piece overall.

  • It just has so much more "soul" and depth and life than the vast number of new(ish) pieces we get to see ... Although your very new piece which everyone likes because of its inherent quality of course has its own merit. But that is because it stands out from the crowd! So ... both that and this are good in very different ways. I like your criteria.

  • I agree with you, Joost. It has tremendous soul. That is why I purchased it from Hillary a few days ago. The bracelet is even more wonderful in person and very easy to wear. Thank you Hillary for letting it go.

  • My pleasure.  It's always nice to know when special pieces go to good homes, especially when the new owner is a member of ethnic jewels.  Enjoy the bracelet as you add your history to its history!

  • Well done, Toya! I think it is safe to assume that at the very least the rate of supply of pieces of this kind will diminish even if demand were to remain static. (Most likely demand will increase.) And in terms of satisfaction, anyway, you never regret owning pieces of this kind because that element of "soul" etc is to people like us a vital component and necessity in modern life, where "soullessness" is perpetually on the increase. This piece is very obviously early and honest to the core, in all respects. And as you say, you can wear it as well, which greatly enjoys the potential for ongoing enjoyment. So yes, I feel you have reason to be grateful to Hillary!

  • Ha, ha Toya, I should have known it was you, my twin in jewelry taste. I was soooo sad when I saw that this was already sold!

  • Sorry to hear you missed out, Pattie, and I can understand your disappointment, while at the same time admiring your good-humoured and gracious way of coping with it! I hope for your sake and Hillary's that she manages to find you another one ...

  • Well, I simply regret being ousted from my title as the Niello Queen!

  • One piece not purchased won't lose you that title, Pattie, given your ongoing interest and activity in that area!

  • So sorry Patty. Your title as queen of both niello and Berber bracelets is still safe! You are way ahead of me and your collection is outstanding. Perhaps Hillary will find the missing mate to this one and you and I can be sisters and twins.
