Cover of my wife Truus Daalder's book (FOR SALE!)

This shows the cover of _Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment_ by Truus Daalder (www.ethnicartpress.com.au). The object is a large bark armband, photographed on its SIDE, from the Tiwi People (Australia). A fine piece of Australian Aboriginal traditional adornment.

  • This wonderful book is certaily a great investment for collectors of ethnic jewellery
  • The ACTUAL size of the book is 32 cm high by 27.5 cm wide. It is VERY large in length and width, and its 420 pages and thick boards are very thick, too. It weighs a total of 3.7 kgs.
  • I should like to point out to all members of this site that this book, my wife Truus Daalder's *Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment*, is for sale, and that we should greatly welcome purchases! We are going through somewhat of a lull at the moment, which is disappointing, though probably unavoidable. It is the more ironic that this should be so because at around US$150 from Amazon it is by no means dear for what it is. The retail price is normally $175 (US$ in America and A$ in Australia). In terms of its "status" the book has rapidly become more important since its publication in late 2009, as it has now attracted massive acclaim from hundreds of users, including highly prestigious scholars, curators, collectors, and top-class dealers. It is widely acknowledged, in particular, that the book offers FAR more information than any comparable book on a wide variety of cultures, thus helping collectors to identify what they have, or to learn more about it. The book is, moreover, exceptionally beautiful with more than 700 large and clear photos, a large page format, high quality paper and boards, and 420 pages. There is really nothing else like it! Check it out on the website for it, which is http://www.ethnicartpress.com.au. You can, through that, directly communicate with Truus if you have any questions. We also offer special deals to anyone who orders a minimum of three books, which makes the price per book really very cheap, as shipping then costs so much less. Only we - as Ethnic Art Press - can supply the book at such low prices, and we have only a very limited quantity left. I add also that EVERYONE who buys the book is happy with it, and that most people comment that "in the flesh" it is far more impressive than they had dared imagine it would be. Please don't hesitate to write to me here as well, for further info. I did not write the book, on which Truus worked specifically for 7 years after many years of collecting, but I know it very well indeed, and do much of the promoting. I add, furthermore, that I also post regularly on ethnic jewellery on Facebook, i.e. on the page called "Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment", where I publish pieces from a wide variety of sources (not just Truus's book, though I draw on that too). Anyone interested in ethnic jewellery is warmly invited to join that page. Just type in "Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment" in your Facebook search box, and you will be taken to the page. You can then join that, if you wish (as I hope!), by clicking "Like".
  • II have just provided concise TITLES for pieces I had posted here before, which I had not so far done. Please check out my photos if you haven't seen them, or were deterred by the lack of titles (I had letter codes etc before - totally useless!).
