Hello Frankie. It could be Uzbek.... If you turned that silver shape around so that it lay horizontally on the bracelet, it would look like one of those heavy Uzbek bracelets we've seen. I think Berberia has/had one in his collection. Just a thought!

It`s comforting that so far no-one else is certain.
I`d love to have my first Daghestani item as I already have some things from Kazakhstan.
I`m now becoming doubtful of it being Uzbek as, in my experience, the outline shape of bracelets from that area tend to have more convoluted outlines.

Hi Frankie, I just stumbled across this pic. I have recently bought a very similar piece and can tell you that mine (and a twin bracelet which was bought by another EJ member from the same seller) is from the Caucasus region. Either Daghestan or Georgia. I think I can find out which.
I'll post a pic of my cuff mine if I get the time - it bears a year and Cyrillic Initials (of the original owner, I assume).

Hi all! Betty, this was an eBay buy from the USA from a couple of which the woman had a russian looking name. They had thought it was russian but I thought it was not.
My apologies for my lengthy absence from contributing. I have been offline in my bulgarian fastness for 6 weeks. From which I had to be rescued from a very unseasonal one metre depth of snow only a few days ago! It looked lovely but was actually a little scary as food and wood for heating were running very low.
Did you show your photo? I haven`t had time to check yet.
Hi Frankie, we've missed you ... glad you managed to get out before the snow closed in. And glad you are making progress with your bracelet ... a long way from Uzbekistan which was my guess.

@ Frankie and Thelma: ... actually not such a far way from either Kazakhstan (just across the Caspian Sea) or Uzbekistan as there was a lively across the region.
I saw many, many Turkoman-looking pieces this summer/authumn, that the locals in Georgia swore would come from Daghestan. Unfortunately, I am no expert at all when it comes to Turkmen pieces, but apparently some similar looking jewellery used to be produced in Daghestan. Other pieces may have been imported.
Anyway, I am sure that our bracelets may even come from the same silversmithing manufacture. I'll post a picture of mine now - though its rather difficult to photograph.
