An appreciation of ethnic jewellery and adornment

Any information about this much appreciated. I think it is Nepalese, but am unsure. Nor do I know if it is old - I suspect not. Maybe 1950s? still very handsome!

That's a very impressive piece. Is the coral some sort of resin? I took a look online at the jewellery from this particular area of Algeria. There are lots of beautiful images out there. It was sold to me as a Nepalese piece. I just wish I had the other one.. Should there have been a central part too originally and what, if anything, is it called please?

Yes, I have some extremely heavy and large ones but with faux corals.

Thank you very much for the information Cordelia. I have changed the heading! It is a very heavy piece.

This is a Kabyle fibula from Algeria. It is a very rare piece. Early 20th Century. Congratulations
