ethnic jewels

An appreciation of ethnic jewellery and adornment

I recently acquired this necklace. It's silver, and the back of the necklace is gilded.
I tink it's a necklace from India - Rajasthani - Jaipur ...
Could someone give me more information about a presume date of creation.

It's a gorgeous necklace ...

Thank you ;-) And I wish an happy new year to vividvault's members.

Hello Sylvie, This is a 'Meena Kari" set of enameled pieces from India. This looks vintage- maybe 1960-70's. They still manufacture this work today, often in higher grade silver than sterling to bring out the colors of the enamel. Sometimes it was gold-plated after it was enameled. Very lovely set!

Thank you very much. Very helpful.

Have a lovely day.
