I purchased these from an antique shop in Yachats, OR who said they came from an estate sale , that they were Taureg and she thought they were originally from Morocco, but wasn't sure.  I am completely new to Tuareg jewelry, but now I love it and want to learn more. She believed them to be about 40 years old.  I've attached the link to my photo album as well as posted a couple of photos here.    Inside the cylinder was an indigo cloth wrapped around what appears to be a piece of lead, no writing. The lead is about 1/2" X 1/8".  I am extremely curious about the significance of the lead, as I was expecting a prayer to be inside.

I would value any information about the region, history, tradition, years, anything at all.

Any information is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
