Here are the "Loro Blonyo" (trans. "inseparable couple") figures seen at the entrance of many restaurants and hotels in Java.
These are based upon an old tradition practiced by Javanese rice farmers. The figures represent the fertility goddess Dewi Sri and her consort. The farmer would place the figures in a special room with a marital bed in hopes that the rice harvest would be bountiful.
