  • Fascinating, Linda!
  • This pendant is the only one that I had ever seen like this. But have seen this technique on other early tibetan items and Chinese Ming items. The pendant is also a gau and the back removes.
  • Many thanks for more information. A most interesting item.
  • I sold it a few weeks ago. I didn't want to as it was a very good item to have as an example of this odd workmanship but I have had to let stuff go to get the house built.
  • Yes, I understand your feelings entirely, Linda. You are a true collector at heart, and as I am that too I can completely sympathise with the sense of loss you must be experiencing every time you sell something you are attached to. It's a lousy situation, and I hope sincerely it will not continue to pester you ongoingly - there must be an end to it somewhere!
  • No not particularly since my mom's illness it has really not gotten better. costs are escalating as there were so many mistakes here from before and other issues. I particuarly hate to let go of things that have unusual workmanship because they are good teaching tools and impossible to replace when you know that you have not seen another one in 35 years! I had a fifty foot tree fall the other day and take out half my garden..  and I have a huge tour coming through in september , things like that continually out of no where.

  • Linda, I did not mean (or say) that things ARE going better for you - I know alas that you are experiencing many problems, as you indicate. I was only expressing the hope that things might GET better ... And I do wish you all the best, during this continued bad time.
  •  Hi linda, sending you warmth and positivity x
