    Just put up the side views and a full top view of the similar buckle that I have. Do the differences in the sides indicate different places of origin, or earlier/later versions of the pieces. The sides here seem to be more engraved, while the ones on mine appear to be cast - am I right in thinking that

    Yes there are differences .......your cast piece is exquisite!

     

    Each was likely made for a client to their specifications.

    DESCRIPTION: A Hallmarked silver belt buckle with  traditional rose of Essaouria decor. Hallmarks on all 4 separate pieces. The hallmarks are of a rams head with the ‘M’ mark for the Marrakech Assay.

    AGE:  1925

    ORIGIN: Essaouria, Morocco

    DIMENSIONS: 11.6cm long 5.4 cm wide

    CONDITION: Very good

    PRICE : £450.00   SALE PRICE £250.00
