  • Very un-usual  'helqa' . First time I see this style. Where is it from?  Tunisia?

  • I am glad someone else has had the good sense to collect one of these...congratulations!!!  These are being melted down for their silver weight and I think in another decade will be difficult to find.  I have one I was fortunate to find still attached to a cord belt.  Yes, Mustafa, this is Tunisian.

  • Thanks very much for showing this lovely piece. Something new for me. I gather it is a belt buckle? How big is it please and how was it worn? Kind regards, Betty

  • It is not so much a buckle, but more of an ornament.  It is worn like a weight at the end of the belt hanging down.  There is a photo of a lady wearing one in my photos.

  • This loop is attached to a twisted wool belt on a garment in which the Berber women drape themse lfs.I think I have a photo let me see.thanks to love this piece because it is rare and I have it more than 40 years

  • Thanks a lot Lanajnaj and Edith. Very interesting and lovely ornaments.
