  • i would very much like to hear what you know about this middle European belt because i have a very uncannily similar one and had to guess the origin and age, also if for sale, how have you priced it?

    the "flap" on the belt that i have has nothing underneath- no pocket, no embroidery, so i guess its there for the sake of ornament.

    i found mine in an antique market outside London about 25 yrs ago.

  • I once knew exactly where this was from. Town and all, but have not the time to look it up, was in one of my costume books. I remember it being Polish, from the 40's and has same empty flap design.  I have it at 500 dollars with a stand that was about 100 dollars.  I think the range is any where from 350-to about that price depending on where you are selling it and to whom .  I wore it so if you compare it to designer belts that are of same ilk then it's still a bargain. Most clients that would buy this from me, use them.
