Email Hacked

Someone has managed to obtain my personal email from this site, has "something vital to disclose" and asks that I contact her privately at a yahoo address.  This person has links to the ethnic jewel site in her email which when followed, lead to my messages but there is no message from this individual.  According to the name she gives, she is not a member.  Is there any way to prevent this kind of thing?

    The person is no longer a member and I have blocked them trying to re join.

    I just got the same spam thing from same sounding person yesterday. I reported it to Cordelia who has replied. That person has left this site. I had a picture of myself  in my page here, which I have changed, and have blocked anyone with that name  who had contacted me from the EthnicJewels site....Otherwise, I really like this site.     Hi everyone, just to explain, the member has sent a message to you via the ning internal messaging system, which is forwarded privtely to your e mail address. She does not have your e mail address and has not hacked you.
    The only way for her to have the adress is if you reply.

    We do occasionally have spam from fake members, but we do work hard to keep this at a minimum and to ban anyone who is not a genuine jewel lover asap.

    HI Sarah,

    I'm not sure if replying in this way is what you mean by the website mail system and do apologize if it's not.  Yesterday I received a message from someone named Joy (joydesmondllcc@hotmail.com) asking me to get in touch with her.  I'm sure it's one of these spam type of messages and I haven't replied.  Upon checking her profile, I see that she is no longer a member and imagine that she has been removed from this forum.  Would you like me to copy the message with what headers I can to you or shall I assume this has already been dealt with?

    I am sorry to hear that you have been affected by this spam . We take great care to filter as much as possible to avoid this type of problem, however the odd annoyance does find a way through. If you recieve mail of this type in the future please forward the complete message including the header with the details of the sender to me or to Alaa Sagid via the website mail system. This will enable us to remove the culprit and all of their posts.

    Same exact thing happened to me today, 2/10/14. The email seemed to be from someone who is a member on this website but that email was no doubt hacked/hijacked!
