Sarah Corbett opened this forum in 2010. She is one of the UKs experts in Amazigh jewellery from Morocco. Sarah ran jewellery study tours to Morocco from 2009 to 2017. One of her great talents is in bringing people together to share their interests in the field. Sarah had became aware that many pieces she saw shown or offered on the internet were both mis-described and misunderstood and she wanted to create a way to 'openly share knowledge - to make an online space where questions could be put to knowledgeable people in an open forum.' This forum is now a lively place which belongs to all those who value honesty and integrity in the field of worldwide ethnic jewellery.
I myself kept stumbling upon the forum when I was researching ethnic jewellery for my own business Azul Tribe. The forum was my daily companion. The friendly and supportive interactions and discussions taught and encouraged me enormously. I will be forever grateful to Sarah for her kindness and mentoring. I now run and moderate this group.
The EJ community is the heart of everything and is nothing without you - the lovers of jewellery, dealers, collectors, historians, ethnographers and the curious. Your interactions, questions and input are warmly welcomed. Although your discussions and photos are open to the public for research, I do keep the site protected and if there are any inappropriate solicitations please do inform me.
