An appreciation of ethnic jewellery and adornment

EXPERTS... I could Use Some Help Knowing more about This Old Beauty!

Yemen? I'm not sure... I cannot find Anything, even in the new book Ethnic Jewelry. Its got bells or something similar inside that makes it jangle/jingle inside! I cant find anything similar to try & figure this one out. Thanks for any help in advance!

This is a bracelet with a rather wide open part. For a open bracelet from oman (most are closed) 7/8  or 2.2 cm is quite normal, for Western people this is rather small. The jingling sound of the bracelets are

made by little stones or scrap silver and is very often found in the hollow anklets or bracelets (for adults!). I can imagine that this bracelet could be from a region in between Oman and Yemen. But this is a guess since it is more crude than the Omani jewelry.

Thank You Patricia, I appreciate your input very much! I've seen a few close too, but still none this (don't w2ant to say not well made), unless older or crafted in rougher ways? You & Betty have given me a good place to start! Now, at least I'm finding more similarity's. Thanks again Experts! Much Appreciated, as always!

I would say Oman and Baluchi since the Baluchi in Oman have a great influence on the silver jewelry produced their.

Betty, Thank you so much for the info! This gives me a good start! The ones you've shown are so much nicer, better in detail & such. Mine just seems so ruffle made.

I read about them, & says mainly worn by women on upper arm just above elbow so they could hear them coming (bracelet jingles), or by children as anklets, or same place arm bands. But says nothing about a wearing as bracelet?? I found that a bit confusing.  If this one was for a child (I have one here I tried it on), of small built, 7yrs old & it didn't fit, but up To his elbow, not just above. To big for his wrist & to small opening for his ankles @ 5 5/8th" inside (not counting opening). Opening is 1 3/8" & cant bend open more, cause its hallow & tuff (I tried to do just a little & it didn't budge). Full inside size is 6 1/2" with opening. So big enough for an adults wrist, but not on a child's, unless age of 4-5 or under? That's the only thing that makes me wonder from what I read....

I Sooooo Appreciate your Help!!!! Thank You!!!  I will investigate more to try & find ones with evil eye, but not as well made & see what I can come up with.

PS: You called it on the evil eye, I thought about it, but didn't think it was.. the pick you showed & sent me to read, explained all that to me. Very Interesting & again, appreciated!

Baluch? Oman? Saudi Arabia?

The "jingles" might be small stones...

Here are some links showing pieces that are somewhat similar:

On this last website there is an interesting picture showing a piece with very similar decoration:
