Ethnic Jewels

An appreciation of ethnic jewellery and adornment

Did you know that meanwhile people all over the world celebrate their Valentine's day on 14th of February, Armenians  have their own holiday devoted to the lovers. It is celebrated 63 days before Easter and  it is called Sourb Sargis (Saint Sargis).

St. Sargis is the patron of loving couples. There are number of traditions that many Armenians follow on that day. Usually the night before the holiday single young women eat very salty pancake right before going to sleep and it is believed that the man, who will give the woman a glass of water in her dream, is going to be her future husband  :)

The Valentine's day is also being celebrated in Armenia, and couples exchange with presents, heart shaped toys, holiday cards, etc.

If you are still thinking about a present for your Valentine, make sure to check IDenteco shop tosurprise your loved ones or purchase our Gift card so they can select the gift of their choice.
