For those of you who have an interest and do not know it already there is a fairly new book on Siwa Oasis. It was published in 2011 by the name of "Sand and Silver. Jewellery, Costume and Life in Siwa Oasis" ISBN 978-0-9569963-0-5. Its author is Margaret Mary Vale and it was published by Kelim Press. It is soft cover.

It is not certainly a "bible" on jewellery but covers many aspects of the life in the oasis of Siwa (customs, uses, how life has changed, jewellery, materials, etc)…

For those members who have an interest in jewellery from Eastern Africa or simply enjoy wonderful pictures, both of pieces and people, I would recommend this link: www.davidserra.es. The catalog on this kind of jewellery, which can be downloaded, is particularly good.
