One can buy antique shells- usually expensive per strand. There are new ones coming out of the Phillipines that can be purchased for $2 a strand!!!! They don't have the same, soft and work qualities as the antique, tribally-used pieces.
yes you are right. i was looking for the old ones i was used to get from my malians friends, they didnt come this year. i had only this new ones opportunity, that cheap i didnt pay :-( i needed them so, i payed more than 2 $. i had no other alternativ
