  • Ah yes, I can see there's another 5-sided Yemeni coin here.... as well as some round ones. Thanks Peter.

  • hello Peter, this is a lovely piece, I have recently purchased a necklace of the same kind (kirdan?) but without the large attachments, your piece has reassured me that I have an authentic necklace from Yemen, down to the same cord, I will post anon, kind regards, zhanna

  • Hi Peter, I love the worn  warm  silver chocker pieces, beautiful file grain decoration. I see that the end ones do not match each of them stunners really. Gr.Ingrid.

  • Dear Thelma, Zhanna and Ingrid,
Many thanks for your comments. You are right Thelma and I usually prefer the elements to match. However, many old Yemeni pieces have been restrung several times over their life span and I see quite often that the end pieces do not match. However, I really liked the coins, tubes and dangles of this piece - very special. When I am occupied with sieving through the boxes and bags, the vendor is doing the same and keeps on showing me pieces, which he finds worth examining further. He is getting almost more exited than I .... this piece is one of those suggestions from him...
    With kind regards.
    Peter
