Yemeni Mahfaza Necklace

An old silver necklace from Yemen. With a "mahfaza" amulet box, and silver beads each bearing the signature of the smith. From northern Yemen, probably Sanaa or Saada, and early 20th century.

I love the amulet box, so simple and well balanced. What is the stringing made of? Is it leather?

Dear Lynn, a great piece of perfect condition beads and unusual deecoration of circles instead of the more common diamond shaped decor. Outstanding I would call it. Great photographic work as well.
