  • Beauty!!!!

  • This is beautiful, looks a little different from the others that I have seen similar to it. These pieces, in my experience, are described as Tadjik or Afghan, and there is usually a smaller pendant. That is not to say that this is not an authentic piece, it just differs slightly from what I am used to. Here is M-A's version.2463406790?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

  • Here is one described as an Afghan heirloom necklace, it has a larger pendant.?CISOROOT=tbmcourt&CISOPTR=23&action=2&DMSCALE=40&DMWIDTH=195&DMHEIGHT=445&DMX=0&DMY=0&DMTEXT=necklace&DMROTATE=0

  • Here is Linda P's. She indicates it is Tadjik or Khyrgiz -- it does have a larger pendant as well so the pendants obviously vary from piece to piece.KhirgizorTadjikwithpendantbottom.jpg?width=392&height=600

  • Just posted my own version of this lovely necklace.IMG_2116.JPG?width=450&height=600

  • This is a wonderful piece, and seeing all the attached pictures of other necklaces of this type has really added to the learning experience.

  • This has been an informative thread. I don't think this is Uighur, which I guess was my point to begin with. I think Uighur jewelry is very difficult to find, have only seen a few examples of it on the web over a few years time. Cetainly, we would not see this much of it on just one site.

  • Dear Tribal Heritage and all other members,

I didn't add anything because for me there was no reason for...This piece for me comes from ancient Turkestan ( now Ouighur turkmen from China) ... on my site I have another similar necklace which comes from Tadjikistan: you could see it under the item "Necklaces and pendants"...www.halter-ethnic.com
