Tunisian tilework

Preethi and I are in a Tunisia right now and we have noticed that compared to other Islamic countries there is very little tilework. None of the mosques which we have seen has any kind of tilework on the exterior. Just wondering if anybody out there knows more about the development of this art in Tunisia.
