An appreciation of ethnic jewellery and adornment

Tuareg( ? ) Pendant- Front with Script

We would very much like to know what this says. Do you know, or do you know someone who might be able to read it? Thanks, Annie B

Nice that you found out about this pendant. Concerning my seal, thanks a lot for trying. I have looked at the Alphabet, but it does not help because I do not know the language. Since the text on the seal is so short, I thought perhaps it was a name from the Bible.....or something similar.  Perhaps some day....

Lucky me, ran into my Ethiopian contact today, he told me that this pendant is written in Amharic, the current alphabet, the script is a bit muddled but he believes it means I wish you happiness from the bottom of my heart ( there might be something about a happy Christmas there, but he was unsure so we settled on happiness. ) Eva, the other pendant is written in Ge'ez, the old alphabet, there were some letters he could interpret, but he could not translate it. I may be a good idea to look at a site with that alphabet. Anyway, nice to see him and that he could help us.

thank you very much, I do not need to know exactly, if I had only a clue what it means approximately, I'd be quite happy! Perhaps the Amharic alphabet you have is a more modern one. I have also tried to compare it, and I only found part of it, I was told it is Ge-ez, an ancient writing used for religious texts only.

I will try, I am looking at alphabet sites right now and this just doesn't completely fit the amharic one but I will ask one of the people I know when I see them.
