  • wonderful items, very lovely.

  • Very nice pieces
  • thanks !

  • Yes, I agree, Linda - there are very good. I particularly like the one on the left. On the photo it looks to my mind older (really quite early), and the intricacy of it is very appealing.

  • Yes alot of the ones I have were selected at a time when they were available over in China. There was a variation even then but I purchased items for re sale and then the ones I kept for myself, some not duplicated.  Several like the one on left were unique and also feel 19th c rahter then newer.  There were several trips i took , every three months for a couple of years so it was finding things peice meal. At the end most of the good old items had vanished but then there were more Mongolian things . On the last trip before SARS i did get the best Mongolian items but after that trip then most minority items had been replaced by new versions or fake versions made to fool dealers.  even textiles  of all types were being faked and put together, even the minority ones.

  • Yes, I agree that the one on the left is 19th century. And I think it is quite exceptional for its area - as you say, it seems unique. The one on the right looks later, but it is a good piece even so.
