SATCHLIK NECKLACE TURKMENISTAN FIRST HALF 1900

Necklace consists of embossed round elements, such as an imitation of coins, and of floral and heart-shaped elements linked together by rings. This ornament is worn by women of the ethnic Yomud group to cover their braids

    Cordelia, This is the type of piece I am referring to, though there are some with more of the triple plaques than others.

    Some of these cover the entire back of the head all the way down to the middle of the back.

    A master piece.  So beautifully made. Does it repeat itself on the other side?  As you wrote it covers the braids?
