  • Never seen a Rihanna with so many Pendants.  What a surprise! each one worth looking at.

  • A rihanna as treasure-necklace! What a great idea! How does it hang though? Rihannas tend to be longish - do the elements stay separate or do they sort of clump together at the bottom?

  • I see a Tanit in the middle.

  • nice colection of "Numidia" pendants. some of them are well known, some are rare. the keys, knives, cisors and hanworkers accesooires are a very old traditional pieces.in some areas used as talisman after birth of daughter or son. in other regions as a medicin with some prayers . the all procedure is called " akhtil "

i have a broken necklace with some semilar pendants. i ll try to add fotos tomorrow

  •  Lovely . On November 2012 I posted an image of mine, almost similar to this one......

  • What a rich and fascinating piece.

  • Hi Bianca,Lovely, so simular to the fashion which was going in the 1950'-60 in europe than it was with called charms in silver or gold. with a bracelet or necklace.  One had to get these as presents from friends, and so especially for birthdays and so. Also if somebody did touch them to have a look  it was also customary that the person than did present another one, in Holland it was called "bedeltjes" freely translated "beggars".   In Ethiopia we had them also but than in the shapes of typical items of Ethiopia, such as a tukul(house) a coffee pot, a basket table. etc..  So..... I take it that these are typical object associated with Tunesia? Gr. Ingrid.

  • Hello Ingrid, these small pendants I have them collected over the years in Tunisia. Women wore them tucked into chains like door-luck and protection against evil influences, (swords, pistols, machine guns, scissors, saws, wrenches). Hands, fish, triangles, are motifs reproduced from ancient times, the crescent and star are symbols of Islam.

  • Thank you Bianca for your explanation.  In principle something like in Europe but there it was more for good luck  and the charms were more like advises.  Altogether you necklace collection is very impressive. Thank your showing and explaining. Gr. Ingrid.
