Comment by ait ouakli on March 19, 2012 at 11:27 Harald. correct, we call it : le vert de kano ( kano green ). touareg buy this lether allready worked and painted fron north nigeria ( city kano ) since generations. they kept this way to get the color secret 100 s of years. until now, they are the most big sellers of this leather color
Comment by Harald on March 19, 2012 at 11:19 The nice green color is it dyed (painted) with copper sulfate?
Comment by ait ouakli on March 18, 2012 at 17:59 eva. bei the touareg, the mirror is used also as protection against evil eyes and it is a way to signal from far that they are arriving ( sun reflektion )
that is nice. I have many "gris gris" made on the spot in Mali for us, made of leather and mirror, but never seen this on a cushion. Love it! By the way, I have put some neutral fat on the Tuareg bag that was spoilt many years ago in the rain....will wait a few days and see (before I cleaned with a wet cloth)
Comment by ait ouakli on March 18, 2012 at 15:29 eva, yes they are, in the meiddle too
