Necklace - Yemen

I have purchased this necklace today. The dealer, a friend of mine, found it after having laid forgotten and untouched on top of a showcase for the past over 10 years when he moved his shop to the current location! A beauty, it features natural amber and a magnificent and rare center pendant. All globes are signed.

Dear Linda; Many thanks for your message. The dealer from whom I bought it said that it is a Bousani. I have shown it yesterday also to the other dealer in Amman, who confirmed it. He got all excited when I showed it to him... The center piece is highly unusual indeed.
These two dealers are among the most knowledgeable people especially when talking of Yemeni and Levantine/Ottoman, including Iraqi jewellery. I am learning a lot from them.

How wonderful to have sourced such a necklace these days. It would be my dream - I have NEVER seen a pendant anything like that.

The small granulated silver beads could maybe be Bedihi?

This measures about 6 or so inches across , very good silver but what is unusual about Peter's is the design on the front. This one is quite old below also. I should post the group of Yemen pieces that I have been working with, sold a few but didn't put them on line. This one I sold, when i get better photos taken I will re list it. i took these quickly.

These beads are very good, very large size also. It's very beautiful. Sold now.
