Necklace - Saudi Arabia

This is an extraordinary, very long necklace in good silver. The pendant is an openable box, where prayers or items with amuletic power would have been kept.

    Another noisy one, Peter. Did you manage to have a quiet journey home? The chain interests me. Have you seen chains like this on other Saudi pieces?

    Dear Thelma; Many thanks for your message. I agree with you, the chain is very special. It is of a good silver and quite fine with nice chiseled decorations on it. The entire piece is heavy. It looks very elegant. I know that this beauty belonged most probably to a Bedouin lady. However, to me this necklace could have even been worn by a lady from the city. With kind regards. Peter
