  • Nothing else to say but a beauty, work and the solid looking silver.  I love it. Your collection keeps growing Angelo. Doing great, gr. Ingrid.

  • thanx Ingrid …..soon i'll sleep under the bridges !!! Becoming poor !!! LOL

Btw ….this piece comes from a collection in Paris ….he worked in Morocco from 1940 to 1980 and collected in the field many items .including jewelry …ceramics ..rugs ..and furniture …sold most of his collection at auction in 1985 …making a fortune !!!

so ..i came WAY very late …and i'm getting the leftovers that the auction house didn't want ..at great price …and still great pieces!!! …more are coming !!!! till i can't eat !!

    Best

    Angelo

  • Absolutely awesome niello work- nice and dark.  I love the combination of domes and the knob; highly unusual!

  • Thanx Hillary (guess is your name , Waqar told me) ..it's a beautiful piece …actually when he sent me the photo ,…terrible photo,...didn't look good at all ..i was almost saying no ..but here it is with me !!!

He is sending me a Ait Serrouchen one ….we will see ….

Actually i have a question about Ait serrochen necklace …it's missing the final pendants …maybe you have some extras that you sell as single pendants ??? i'll email you picture

Btw i looked at your collection …It's AMAZING ..so much you have !!!!

    Kiss kiss…Angelo

  • Beautiful bracelet. Looks a museum piece. Rich and precise workmanship. Congratulations

  • Oh my, this is beautiful! The niello looks fantastic... as is the overall design and workmanship. A great piece to have in one's collection. Congrats, Angelo!

  • Ooh! Fabulous dark niello! Have seen an example of a similar flared cuff with the same style of knobs but chiselled, described as coming from Foum Zguid. I could find the precise reference this weekend.
  • Thank you Preethi…i would like to see the one from Foum Zguid….btw ..i looked on the map ..the two  places are not far away from each other ….regards..Angelo

  • I second preethi on a more sothernly provenance like Foum Zguid and not ida ou Nadif at all.

Your bracelet has a story to tell which is of a very high symbolism to the wearer.

To understand it it is better to imagine the cuff made flat in the form of two triangles attched together around the narrowest part of the bracelet:

The two filgreed domes are actually breast, down comes the bigger filgreed dome which is a fertile belly bearing a child to soon be born the last stage is the flower shaped applique with the raised cube headed nail which symbolizes the new born.

This is one of the the most highly sought after piece of berber jewelry especially that it bears intact niello
